Privacy policy

ConversionBench (“we”, “us”) operates conversionbench.com and is published by Caslon Media, Amsterdam (KvK 64708101). This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the third-party services we work with. Plain-English summary first; detailed sections after.
Plain-English summary
- We do not sell your personal data. Ever.
- There is no signup, no login, and no newsletter — we have no way to identify you by name and we never ask for one.
- We use two analytics tools: Google Analytics 4 (aggregate traffic measurement) and Microsoft Clarity (anonymised heatmaps and session replays that show where people click and scroll).
- We do not currently serve ads. No advertising scripts load on this site today. If that changes, it will be Google AdSense, and this page will be updated before any ad code goes live.
- Visitors in the EEA, UK, Switzerland and California get analytics and advertising storage denied by default via Google Consent Mode v2 — no consent banner is needed because those cookies are never set in the first place.
Analytics we actually run
Two tools, both loaded on every page. This is the complete list — there are no other trackers on this site.
- Google Analytics 4 — aggregate page views, referrer, approximate country, device type. IP anonymisation is enabled. Analytics and advertising storage are set to denied by default for visitors in the EEA, UK, Switzerland and California under Google Consent Mode v2, so no analytics cookie is written for those visitors — measurement falls back to cookieless, aggregated pings.
- Microsoft Clarity — heatmaps and session replays showing where visitors click, scroll and hesitate, so we can fix confusing pages. Clarity masks text input by default and we do not use it to identify individuals. See Microsoft’s privacy statement. Clarity sets its own first-party cookie where consent rules allow it.
You can block both at browser level with any standard content blocker, and nothing on this site will break — every benchmark page is static HTML and the percentile calculator runs entirely in your browser.
Advertising — not currently running
ConversionBench does not serve display advertising at present. No AdSense, no ad network, no advertising cookies are set by us today.
If we enable display advertising in future it will be Google AdSense, and this section will be updated before the ad code ships. For reference, when Google serves ads it uses cookies to serve and measure them based on a user’s visits to a site and other sites on the internet.
Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting policies.google.com/technologies/ads. For details on how Google uses data when you visit our site, see policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
What we collect
- Aggregate analytics: page views, referrer (where you came from), approximate country, device type, screen size — via Google Analytics 4. No cross-site identifiers, and no advertising audiences are built from it.
- Interaction recordings: anonymised click, scroll and mouse-movement replays via Microsoft Clarity, used to find broken or confusing page layouts. Text input is masked by default.
- Edge request data: the site is served by Cloudflare Pages, which processes standard request metadata (IP address, user agent) to route traffic and block abuse under Cloudflare’s privacy policy. We do not run our own server-log store and do not export that data.
- We do not collect: email addresses (no signup, no newsletter), payment info, names, account profiles, browsing history off this site.
Opting out
- Any browser content blocker stops both analytics tools. Nothing on the site depends on them.
- Google Analytics specifically: Google’s official opt-out add-on.
- Personalised advertising across the web (relevant if we ever enable ads): Google ad settings and the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out tool.
